Who am I?

I’m passionate about food, wine, travel, gardening, hiking, skiing, getting the best out of life and my crazy cat Milly!

Throughout my adult life, I’m in my early 40’s, I have battled depression, undiagnosed Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) Type 3 (I finally got a diagnosis in June 2015) and in early 2010 someone drove into the back of my car as I waited at a roundabout, a relatively minor event that would have a major impact on my life. It triggered Fibromyalgia and IBS, not helped by the unknown presence of EDS. Three weeks after the crash I got out of bed one morning to discover I couldn’t stand up, after a month in bed I returned to work part time for 6 months and then worked back up to full time.  Each day was a battle with my body and mind just to get from the beginning to the end.  I have worked very hard for these illnesses not to define me.  In the last year, I have rediscovered levels of energy that I have not had since my early 20's and I have lost nearly 5 stone in the last two years. In short, I changed my lifestyle and am now reaping the amazing benefits.

I have not pursued a traditional career path in my life, I have chosen to follow my dreams and if a new direction was required to achieve this I moulded my skills to fit and pursued that new direction with confidence and conviction.  You could call me a career chameleon, I adapt to fit my surroundings.

This approach allowed be to become the youngest female rowing coach at my level during my final year at university achieving both my degree and an NVQ Level 4 (ARA Bronze Level) coaching qualification simultaneously.  I have worked as an outdoor pursuits instructor, a senior fitness instructor in a gym, I have lived and taught English as a foreign language in Australia, Thailand, the UK and France.  I’m a fully qualified primary school teacher. I ran my own language school and property management business during a 10-year stint in the French Alps. I have worked as a chef, a hot tub specialist and trainer and mastered the basics of French accountancy.  I ran a private house for celebrity owners, rose to management level in luxury hotels and latterly I was the Operations Manager for a major timber importer.  Now I combine all this knowledge and experience to help other people transform their lives, unleash their potential and perform at their best on both a personal and professional level.

A year ago, I was shown an opportunity I couldn’t ignore.  A selection of fabulous products, almost completely unknown in the UK, which included a range of supplements that were helping people not only improve their general health but people were reporting positive improvement in the symptoms of various chronic health issues.  By joining this company as one of their independent representatives I soon felt the benefits for myself and a part time project started to grow into something a lot bigger.  Feed your body, find out more here.

The company actively encourages personal development too. I have done hours of personal development study and attended several courses in the last year, shifting from negative to positive thinking, letting go of negative emotions that were impacting my health, removing toxic situations from my life and surrounding myself with positive, like-minded people.  I have learnt how to be the best version of myself possible to help me get the most out of both my personal and professional life. I have also qualified as a coach to share these techniques with others so they can benefit from their power too. Feed your mind, find out more here.

In March 2017, I resigned from my full-time job, completed my coaching training and that is how Healthy & Hydrated came about!
